Use:
2-thiopheneglyoxylic acid is an intermediate for the preparation of 2-thiopheneacetyl chloride, usually obtained by the reaction of 2-acetylthiophene and sodium nitrite/hydrochloric acid.
Chemical properties:
Yellow crystalline powder, melting point 88-91℃. Easily soluble in dioxymethane and ethyl acetate, insoluble in petroleum ether and diethyl ether.
